BETTIE's Story...
Bettie is 12 – 18 months old female border collie mix. Our best guess is that she is mixed with boxer. Bettie is black and white with a smooth coat. Bettie is such a nice dog. She is affectionate, loving, and gentle towards people. She interacts extremely well with children and socializes well with both male and female dogs. Since she is still a youngster, she does have a playful side and tries to interact so that other dogs will play with her. She doesn’t seem to have a strong small prey drive, however, it is unknown at this time how she will interact with cats.

Bettie is medium on the activity level scale. She enjoys exercise, and like all dogs, requires proper time for play, walking or running. Bettie has an instant off button and love nothing more than to be petted and shown affection. Bettie is by nature an obedient dog who respects boundaries and knows some basic commands, but lacks proper training. Bettie is crate trained and walks decently on a leash. She loves to go for outings at the local park. There is a lot of stimulus there with other dogs, children playing, BBQs with lots of noise, squirrels climbing the trees, ducks in the pond, and she just takes it all in without a care in the world. This is the type of dog that would make a great addition to your family. She exhibits all of the good traits that is desirable of the all around family dog.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BETTIE, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
