Floyd's Story...
This lionesque cat is Floyd. He is currently the king of the cat room due to his good looks and his charm. He is a little shy to new people but once you begin to pet him and tell him that he is handsome, he warms-up in seconds. Floyd is a two-year old boy who was rescued from an abandoned home after his owner passed away and he was stranded there. You can tell by the look on his face that he yerns for a companion to love again. He gets along with other cats but we do not know if he gets along with dogs.

He is neutered, has be tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV, vaccinated, and dewormed. Please respond if you’d like to give him a forever home. If you leave your phone number I will gladly call you. If you would like to meet him, he is staying at Care for Animals, 2944 Post Rd. Warwick, RI

About Our Shelter...
The mission of PAAWS RI is to provide services to Rhode Island’s most vulnerable populations of animals, through two specific programs.

The first part of our mission is to maintain a shelter/rescue program. Stray and abandoned animals have limited options for treatment through traditional veterinarians and shelters.
PAAWS RI will fill this gap with our shelter/rescue program and provide these homeless animals with shelter, medical care and rehabilitation. Once these animals are returned to
optimal health they will be adopted out to their forever home.

Many cats and dogs are suffering with easily treatable problems because affordable veterinary care is unavailable. We will fill that void with our program to provide funding
for medical and surgical services. Recipients of these subsides will be animals belonging to low-income pet owners and shelter groups. Services include preventative and sick animal care, surgical and dental procedures, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Floyd, a Warwick Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Warwick, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Warwick.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warwick already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warwick breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warwick paves the way for another one to be saved.
