Freckles is a sweet, loving boy. All he wants to do is please his person, go to walks with him, play ball with him, snuggle on the couch and watch TV with him. He is a true loyal boy.

He weighs between 50 to 60 lbs. He is about 2 yrs old. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, Heart worm negative and on prevention. He is professionally obedience trained, crate trained and house trained.

Freckles prefers being an only dog to bask in his humans love and attention. All he really wants and needs is his human family to love.

Freckles will be adopted to an inside forever home only. Must own home – no apartments please. Six foot fence required. Our application process requests references, vet checks and home visit. Freckles’s adoption donation of $200 will be used to help other abused and neglected dogs.

Freckles Story as best we know it: From the day he was born Freckles was set up to fail. Somehow though, through his good will and forgiving nature, he triumphed in the end. Born into a backyard breeding system he was sold too soon to be properly socialized to dogs and humans he could trust. At six to eight weeks old he was ripped away from his doggie family, from the only warmth and love he would likely ever receive over his life time. He craved human attention but rarely received it. His only toy was his food bowl as evidenced by the joy and abandon with which he entertained himself with it. He grew up neglected and practically alone.  He had no idea how to live in a home with a real family and what real love felt like.  However, true to his breed, his love for humans remained great even though he was betrayed by them all over and over again.

When he was about a year old he found himself alone, starving and wandering aimlessly looking for someone who would feed him and love him and someone he could love in return. Was he dumped? Did he escape? We will never know. He was dangerously thin and afraid when his luck changed for the better. A kind human took him home and nurtured him back to health and showed him what “real” love was all about. He grew healthy and he was happy for the first time in his life. This kind human wanted to adopt him but the dominant dog in that home is also a male and does not like Freckles so now Freckles is looking for his own home. 

Freckles has now been professionally obedience trained and is ready for his own forever home. Freckles does well on walks. He ignores other dogs and politely meets other well mannered dogs on the street. He is well mannered and loving and a joy to be around.
