Henry, or Henrik, is a very friendly 5 year old boy who was left behind when his people moved out. He was outside in the rain for a few days before he was found and rescued, and he gets a little skittish with loud noises and quick movements. He's in no way shy though! He LOVES belly rubs, and if you scratch him under his arms he reaches for the sky! Henry appears to be ok with other kitties, though he hasn't been introduced yet, just under the door paw greetings. Henry is a big, gentle guy, who would do well with kids who aren't too rowdy. . He needs a calmer, consistent home.
Shelter Info...
Branford Compassion Club (BCC) is a non-profit feline
rescue organization that serves not only Branford, CT,
but surrounding shoreline towns. The mission of the club
is to provide for the feeding, shelter and care of homeless,
abandoned and feral cats; to educate the public about the
importance of spay/neuter population control, responsible
pet ownership and kindness to animals; and to establish an
ongoing community network to achieve these goals.
Branford Compassion Club was founded in November 1997,
by a handful of compassionate Branford residents concerned
with the growing population of feral cats. The residents
united to form BCC to alleviate the hunger and suffering
of feral cats in this community.
The Branford Compassion Club is an all volunteer organization, and as such we are only able to be open on Saturdays from 11-3. If you need to come in at a different time, please call and we would be happy to set up an appointment with you.
At the Branford Compassion Club, we do require a potential adopter to fill out an application, which includes vet history and references, and is then reviewed by an officer of the shelter. Adoptions may happen the same day, if possible. There is an adoption fee of 125$ for adult cats and 150$ for kittens, this fee helps to offset the cost of all the medical procedures done prior to adoption such as:
Medically checked by a veterinarian
Tested for Feline Leukemia and Feline AIDS
De-wormed and De-fleaed
Vaccinated against Distemper and Rabies (over 3 months of age)
Spayed/Neutered
The adoption fee also helps us to intake another cat once the space from your new family member opens up.
North Branford, Branford, and surrounding areas if need be.
