My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Pokie, and I’m probably a terrier mix. The kids who found me on a country road, named me Pokie because of the polka-dots on my nose and feet. They fell in love with me and tried real hard for a while to keep me, but, because of their family situation, they had to call the Humane Association to try to find me a good home. Now I’m with a nice foster family, and I’m learning a lot. They’ve taken me to the vet to get spayed, and I’m up to date on all my shots, heartworm prevention, and flea and tick medicine. The vet says I was probably born around November 29th, 2011. On my last visit on May 22nd, I weighed 35 lbs. and he said I’m a friendly, healthy pup. My foster mom says I’m very smart and funny, but I just love to please her and will do anything for a belly rub. I’ve learned to walk pretty well on a leash, I’m house-broken, and I sleep in my crate all night without a peep.

I love to go outside and play with the 4 other dogs. I’ve even learned to leave the older dogs alone and only play with the ones who want to play with me. I really enjoy when the grand-kids come over and we play ball. They’re teaching me to bring it back to them so they can throw it again and again. I like trying to get the cat to play with me, but he doesn’t like to play much.

I am fostered in TENNESSEE, but I will be transported to your Northeast stop once I am adopted! My adoption fee is $350 (which includes extra vetting and $150 for transport).

My foster family is very nice, but I’m ready for my own forever family. I promise to love you forever!
