My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hey! My name is Brooks and I think that I was put on this earth, approximately May 2009, to be your oh-so-loyal companion! I am a lab/beagle(?) mix weighing in the 40-ish pound range.

I like to be active so a family who will take me walking, running and spending lots of time playing with me is what I will prefer. I also like to play with other dogs and really enjoy a good 'wrestle' with my canine foster brother (a large, male Golden Retriever). I am learning that cats like to have their space and it is best to stick to playing with other dogs! I like to patrol the yard to be sure that the birds and squirrels stay in the trees. And when the day is over and I've expended a good amount of energy, I am a pretty fabulous couch snuggler.

I do know some basic commands – and maybe more that I'm just not letting on to – but I could benefit from a 'refresher' obedience class. I am very smart - and housebroken. I will do great with kids over 8 years old who can stand their own with me (in a physical-size sense) and understand when told that I'm not crazy about having my ears touched.

My foster Mom describes me as an extremely happy dog with lots of energy and affection, loyal sweet and wonderful! Who wouldn't want me as their furry best friend!!!
