Chewie's Story...
Hi, my name's Chewie and I'm a two year old lab pitt bull mix. My owners couldn't keep me anymore, so they brought me to the shelter. I'm housebroken and I get along fine with kids and cats, but sometimes I don't get along with other dogs. I'd don't like being apart from my owners, and have some separation anxiety. I'd much rather be with you and play with some of my toys. Do you think you have room in your house and heart for a great guy like me? The shelter is open on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 1-8 and Wednesday's and Friday's from 1-5, if you'd like to come visit me.

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chewie, a Youngwood Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Labrador Retriever/Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
