My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bentley! Bentley is a 7 month old male that is coming into rescue as his current family does not have the time to spend with him. He is a very mellow and sweet boy, but has developed a few behaviors that will need to be worked on in his new home. Bentley knows a few commands, sit, paw, down, but not with consistency. Bentley has had no real structure or training, so he will need a strong leader to help him come out of his shell and to work with him on his manners. He is a bit shy at first and will need someone to work with him on his confidence level. He will go in the crate, but he will also eliminate in the crate, so he needs work on "positive crate" training and house breaking. When Bentley gets nervous he will pee in the house. He is currently showing signs of being protective, but we believe he is taking cues from the resident dog in the home who seems to be the alpha in the house.

Basic obedience classes are a must for Bentley and a family that is willing to work with him on positive training methods to help him gain some confidence back and to teach him the proper manners that he will need as a young boxer boy. Bentley currently lives with older Children 15+, so we will be looking to place him in a home with older children or no children. He has not been well socialized with adults, children or other dogs; only the resident dog he currently lives with. Introduction with him need to be slow until he can figure out how to properly interact with dogs. please check back soon for updates as we secure a foster home for this handsome boy!
