Pooh's Story...
Meet Pooh! This sweet Shih Tzu has had a hard life and is looking for a quiet home where he can finally have the love that he so deserves. Around 10 years old, some may call him a “senior” dog, but we just consider it “experienced”! Like all dogs his age, Pooh might prefer to lounge on the couch rather than be a jogging buddy. But, true to his breed, he has lots of personality and spunk. And boy does he love to cuddle and just hang out with his people! In fact, Pooh loves people and other dogs too. So, he would love to share his new home with a laid back canine companion or two. He has charmed everyone at the shelter with his good looks and sweet disposition and we know he will make a wonderful companion. If you are looking for a little canine friend to keep you company, look not further than Pooh!

Pooh longs for a family who will give him love, affection, and the security to know that he will never be alone again. If you would like to give this boy a loving forever home, contact his adoption consultant, Debby, at 440-364-1286 or djg4517@gmail.com for more information. Pooh is hanging out in a foster home, so she will set up a visit!

** The adoption fee helps to cover the general veterinarian check-up, heartworm test, spay/neuter, basic vaccinations, rabies vaccination, worming, flea preventative, and microchip that all dogs adopted through Berea ARF receive prior to going into their new home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pooh, a Berea Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso for sale in Berea, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso dog from a breeder in Berea.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Berea already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Berea breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Berea paves the way for another one to be saved.
