I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.
We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from CCHS, you have to complete an online application at http://www.collincountyhumanesociety.org/adoption-application.html and we will contact you asap about the status of your application.
2 year old Chi-Weenie mix, 8lbs.
Doodle was one of 13 Chi mix dogs - adults and puppies - surrendered to CCHS foster care from an owner who could no longer care for them.
This little guy is 2 years old and cute as they come. He will jump on to your lap and give sweet doggie kisses. He is a black and tan Chiweenie mix. He is friendly and comes right up to you for a pet and a howdy do. Good with other dogs and kids; a snuggler and lap sitter. He is crate and potty trained. He trained himself on the doggie door in no time but if you do not have a doggie door, that is OK too. Walks well on a a lead and is always up for a car ride or a walk. Like any chihuahua, he makes a good alarm dog when someone comes to the house but is quiet most of the time. He gets along great with his foster family and loves to play with them all. He will make a good pet and companion for anyone who wants a larger size Chihuahua. He is not afraid of larger dogs, typical Chihuahua trait.
Doodle needs a secure back yard and a playmate, preferably a female, large or small.
Adoption fee for CCHS pets includes neuter, round of annual shots including rabies, HW test, 1 month HW preventative and implanted ID chip. All CCHS pets live in homes with a family, not in a shelter so they can be evaluated. To apply to adopt Doodle, go to www.collincountyhumanesociety.org and complete an on-line application.

Rescue Group Info...
Our Purpose is:
To rescue adoptable dogs and puppies from animal shelters and animal control facilities
To rescue dogs and puppies from abusive and neglectful situations, including puppy mills and "backyard breeders"
To help educate the public on proper animal care and promote spaying and neutering of all pets
To provide medical treatment for animals in our care
To provide foster homes for animals in our care
To place rescued animals in permanent, loving homes
To build and maintain a facility to house rescued animals and host adoptions.
To meet our pets, contact us about any dog/puppy you are interested in and we'll set up a meeting time/date between the adopter and foster home.
Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be UTD , current on HW prev and S/N. If a home visit is needed we will compele that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs ad $250 for puppies. We spend an average of $300 on each dog/puppy, so the adoption fee helps pay for the vetting for future dogs we bring into the program. Their is a 5 day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family.
