Charlie's Story...
Charlie is a super-sweet affectionate friendly dog! Rescuer found him a month ago abandoned in a park. He has since been boarded at a vet so he could get shots & neutered, and rescuer can go there to walk him as much as possible. He was a little apprehensive at first but has gradually come out of his shell more and more, to the point that he licks rescuer’s face excitedly every time he sees him. He really wants to belong to one specific person. He runs up and licks other dogs and show no aggression. He loves to go on walks and jog with human friends and be held in a lap – then he starts kissing your face. He would make a very energetic walking/running partner for someone. He is so appreciative at having been rescued out of a park where someone who didn’t want him dumped him. He is so grateful to have a warm bed and plenty of food. He is a terrific, really really nice dog. The vet says he is only 1.5 years old. So he’s very young & will make a great loyal dog for someone.

Our Adoption Process...
All potential adopters are carefully screened through our adoption process:

- If you're interested in an animal, we'll ask that you fill out a questionnaire, which we will review to ensure you and the dog you are interested in adopting are a good match.

- You will be asked to submit to a "house-check" to determine the level of safety and adequacy of the area for the dog.

- An adoption fee is required and you must sign the adoption contract agreement, which ensures that if, for any reason, you are unable to keep the dog, he/she to be returned to Forte Animal Rescue only.

- Finally, we personally deliver your new family member to your home.

- Any additional donation would be greatly appreciated, and this portion will be tax-deductible. The donation goes to pay for all of the other animals in our care, many of which come to us with injuries or medical conditions that require treatment. Forte Animal Rescue survives solely on donations and it is for this reason that the adoption fee is nonnegotiable.

- Forte Animal Rescue reserves the right to cancel the adoption process at any time if the home situation or adoptive family has been misrepresented, if certain information was withheld, or if the dog is determined to be a better match with another family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a Marina del Rey Boxer/Chow Chow dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer/Chow Chow for sale in Marina del Rey, or seeking a Boxer/Chow Chow dog from a breeder in Marina del Rey.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marina del Rey already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marina del Rey breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer/Chow Chow breeders who help with Boxer/Chow Chow rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marina del Rey paves the way for another one to be saved.
