My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ranger is an approximately 1 year old black male with natural ears, a white chest and toes. He has the sweetest eyes that I've ever seen! His long legs get in the way a little, but they help him just up and spin when he gets excited! He is about 115 pounds of sweet, energetic, intelligent baby boy! He is still just a puppy, so he needs someone who will be patient with him since he is still learning his boundaries and manners. He has never counter surfed and he NEVER gets on the couches or the beds! He is perfectly content sleeping on a quilt on the floor right next to my side of the bed or on the baby mattress in the living room. He has a lot of energy, but he also loves his long naps after breakfast, dinner, and his zoomies. Ranger loves everyone he has met, men and women, and has no problem with any dog he has met so far! No idea about cats because I don't have any or know anyone who has any, but he is absolutely darling and would probably be fine with them. Only older children because he does jump a little, but we're continuously working on that. He can sit, but not consistently and so far does now know his name but he knows that you are talking to him. He will make a great addition to any family that wants a wonderful baby boy to round out their family!
Update 6/9/12 - Ranger has settled in at his new foster home very well. For a youngster he is very well behaved and the sweetest boy who just wants to be by your side. He is happy to just lounge on the floor near wherever you are but definitely needs time spent with him walking and playing. He walks well and loves going for long walks. He has been very good whenever he meets people or dogs. I have gotten so many comments about what a friendly dog he is because he just loves being petted by everyone! Ranger listens well and knows how to sit, lay down and comes when called. We are working on the stay command as well as learning not to jump which he will when he is very excited. Ranger has done great being left alone as there are no other dogs or cats in the house. Whenever we see cats outside he does get excited and curious but does not try to lunge after them. Ranger loves going for rides in the car and is very good. He will definitely be a great dog if you want a dog to take pretty much anywhere you want.
