Earl Grey's Story...
Earl Grey is a big, handsome, sociable and handleable, four-year-old, golden-eyed male Russian Blue-mix cat looking for a feline-loving guardian. Found as a stray, Earl Grey is wonderful with other cats and loves to be pet and loved on. He has tested positive for FIV so he’d be fine living on his own, with other FIV cats, or with other cats as long as they don’t fight - as FIV is spread through deep puncture wounds. When you pet Earl, he has a low rumble of a happy purr. He becomes quite vocal when he wants more attention. To meet and possibly adopt Earl Grey, please fill out the adoption application at: http://www.saveapetil.org/sites/default/files/app_CAT.pdf and follow up by contacting the Save-A-Pet shelter at adoptions@saveapetil.org or 847.740.7788. His adoption fee of $100 benefits the rescued cats and dogs of Save-A-Pet. He is healthy, de-wormed, neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and micro-chipped. You can meet Earl Grey and all the other Save-A-Pet residents at the adoption center at 31664 N. Fairfield Rd., in Grayslake, Illinois, on Monday and Friday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Thursday from 1:00 to 8:00 pm, or Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Earl Grey, a Chicago Russian Blue cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Russian Blue cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
