My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Trixie is a perfect mix of puppy and dog … she loves to play, she loves to get into trouble but she also loves just lying in the yard or next to you in the house. She just has one rule --- she wants to be near you. We have found out that given the right opportunity, Trixie will counter surf and is not afraid to eat anything – so you must keep your belongings far away from the edge and out of reach. She is definitely the dominant dog in the house but she knows her place if you are strong with her. She LOVES to learn new tricks and she loves to show them off when she gets the chance. Right now we are working with her on “catch” – she hasn’t learned that she needs to return the ball to us when we play – she currently thinks it is more fun to play the “try and catch me” game instead (however she makes it quite easy to catch her after a while). Her walking has improved and we even took her to a local park the other day where she was well behaved. She was more focused on her walk than any person or animal around. It was great! The kids love every minute with her … even when she soaks them with kisses. Trixie has lots of love to give and deserves to find her furever home … is that with you??

Trixie has been a big lover from day one with her almost out of control kissing and now she is becoming even more loving while she gets more comfortable with us. She looks forward to all the family being home so she can just be with us. She is so excited to learn so we are working on a few things with her. She would love to show off her skills to her new family soon. Trixie is getting along great with our male Boxer once we set boundaries. She definitely wants to be the Alpha dog in the house and should be with a dog that is submissive. She loves her play time but is also very happy just laying next to you on the floor watching TV.

She definitely pays too much attention to small animals and thinks she is going to be able to catch every bird she sees on our walks. So we avoid any meetings with the small dogs on the street with her; however, you can usually get her attention pretty quickly and she resumes her walk which is a good sign. That being said, Trixie is really quite calm for a 2 year old Boxer. Trixie would be a great addition to your family … especially if you want to be loved a LOT!

Trixie has been with us for less than one week yet already has won everyone’s heart. She is a total love bug and really wants to please. Trixie came to us with a little extra weight on so we are very focused on walking her throughout the day and she is becoming quite the lady on the leash. Prior to arriving Trixie was given food throughout the day and seemed “picky” about the food she ate but within less than a week she is on a schedule and LOVES it. She looks forward to her meals, love the natural food and even stays at her bowl till she is done. She shows no signs of food aggression or guarding of any type. She knows her basic commands and will even “high five” you with the back of her paw. SHE LOVE TO GIVE KISSES and that is not an exaggeration.

Trixie loves her treats and is willing to do just about anything you can think of for one – which is a great help with training. She has a tendency to give the cats some unwanted attention but one call over to her requesting her attention – she is right there ready to please. She is really that excited to make you happy. Trixie has free roam of the house and does well but like our other Boxer, she will find her way to the bed if given the chance so you may want to limit her roaming. Trixie sleeps on her dog bed right next to her big foster Boxer brother and seems very content throughout the night. Oh and if you are sleeping and she needs to go out – she gently puts her front paws on the bed and licks you till you wake … aww … now what’s better than that!

Trixie is a beautiful 2year old female that is coming into rescue as she was not getting along with the other resident female dog in her home. Trixie is an ABSOLUTLE doll! She is very sweet and loves to be around all people. She also lived with 2 cats, kids and a male dog. She was crate trained as a puppy and does fine with free roam of the house. She knows her basic commands and is very eager to learn and please.

Trixie arrived at foster home on Saturday, April 14th. She shares her foster home with a male Boxer boy and two resident cats and is getting along well with them. Please check back for updates as we get to know this beautiful girl as she settles in.
