Rex's Info...

Rex's Story...
Rex is a cute little boy who came in with his little brother, Cody. They are Chorkies (Chihuahua / Yorkie mixes) from two different litters. Cody looks more like the Mom, a Chihuahua, and Rex looks more like their Dad, a Yorkie. They are wonderful little guys. They gets along with other dogs, small and large. Both are spunky and fun dogs. Alert. Vocal when they want to alert you of strangers. Fun and goofy. Somewhat double trouble at once but in a cute way. Bright and adoptable. Very responsive to positive training. They seem to be happy all the time. Tender and loving. They are housetrained and leash trained. Both enjoy car rides. Wonderful little companions. Ideal to join you for short little walks and to snuggle with you while you are watching a good movie. Their coats require very little care. Weekly brushing will remove dirt and dead hair. Bathe only as needed.
They shed very little to none. Daily walk on a leash is needed to keep them fit, happy and healthy both physically and mentally. Since they have been together all their lives and they are practically inseparable we would like them to be adopted together. They are good for each other and they good to each other. They always end up sleeping in
the same bed, eat and drink out of the same bowls and clean each other before going to sleep. They are each others best friends! We call them simply Codyrex. Cody is around 2 years old and weights 8 lbs. Rex is about a year older and weights 10 lbs. Full grown.

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
We're a grass roots, community of volunteers who coordinate shelter dog adoption events in towns and counties around the great state of Connecticut. We'll help any rescue who will get dogs and puppies out of shelters where they may be harmed.

We believe dogs are cherished companions and should never have to suffer in sub standard conditions or at the hand of an abuser. We don't take money from dog adoptions nor do we charge rescues for our help. We fundraise throughout each community we hold an event to pay for event expenses.

Join us, we need your help, your compassion and your energy. Together we can begin to end the senseless killing of healthy, loving companion animals in shelters and pounds around the US by finding responsible adopters!

Come Meet Our Pets...
Our adoption events are always on the last weekend of the month, if you check our website location will be on the home page: www.godogdays.org.

Each event has at least 80 dogs: 40 large breed dogs and 40 puppies. Any dogs not adopted at our event are returned to their rescue or go into our foster program. Our rangers and volunteers will continue to try to find a good home for dogs not adopted out at the event. So far we have found homes for every dog at our events and we would like to continue that proud statistic!

Our Adoption Process...
All dogs and puppies are owned by rescues or shelters and they set policies for adoptions, including the cost, however, we do not allow rescues to charge more than $385 for adoptions.

All dogs at our events are spayed or neutered, current on all age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and assessed for behavior and temperament unless they come from Connecticut municipal pounds or are otherwise noted.

Please fill in our online form if you're interested in adoption so we can help the rescues process your information faster at the event:

http://godogdays.org/find-my-new-best-friend.htm

Please note that ALL dogs are approved by their rescues at our events, filling in an application does not "hold" a dog for you or guarantee that you will be approved for adoption by the rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rex, a Essex Chihuahua/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Essex, or seeking a Chihuahua/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Essex.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Essex already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Essex breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Chihuahua/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Essex paves the way for another one to be saved.
