My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lexi is a wonderful puppy who is happy and playful. She enjoys spending time with other dogs and doesn't mind to get a kiss or two. Outgoing and friendly. Always alert and ready for just about anything. She will follow you everywhere you go in hopes that you will pay attention to her. Smart. Just about leash trained and rides well in cars. She also is doing really well with housetraining as long as she is let out frequently.
Great pet for an active household. Ideal companion and playmate for another dog. Wonderful dog to take along for long walks or a long road trip. She wouldn't mind if you would take her along camping either. By end of the day she would like to snuggle with you and fall asleep knowing that for the first time in her life she has a permanent home and people who will love her for better or for worst.
Coat needs to be brushed regularly (at least twice a week) to keep it shiny and clean of dirt and dead hair. Bathe as needed. Daily exercise is a must to keep her fit, happy and healthy. Since she is just a baby obedience training is recommended so she can learn all new tricks and how to communicate with her humans.
Lexi is around 6 months old and weights around 16 lbs. Not quite full grown yet but she doesn't have much do grow. Her short legs seems to stop growing and hopefully her long body won't get much longer.
This poor puppy was turned in to high kill shelter in GA by her owner who got her as a birthday gift from boyfriend. Once the boyfriend became ex she rid of the puppy so she wouldn't have anything to remind her of him. The owner signed consent to have the dog euthanized without thinking twice about it. Since the shelter was full and she was scheduled to be killed Southern HOPE stepped in and pull this girl from a death row. Now she is fully vetted and finally ready for adoption. She has big hopes to find a wonderful family in CT. Thank you for your interest in Lexi. The rescue who is bringing Lexi has the information on Lexi's background. The rescue has asked Dog Days to pre-screen interested adopters for all of their dogs coming to our event.

APPLICATION FORM: http://godogdays.org/find-my-new-best-friend.htm (Copy and paste to browser.)

If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. We will be posting more information on each dog as we get closer to the event weekend which is June 23-24 at Chester Fairgrounds. PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE.
