Shelter Info...
Responsible Pet Care is a no-kill, non-profit shelter for cats and kittens. The animals in our shelter have been picked up as strays by the animal control officer or surrendered by their owner. Cats have been neutered or spayed, received rabies vaccinations, received distemper shots, tested for HIV and feline leukemia, dewormed and given flea treatments before being released to a new home.
Responsible Pet Care is located at 132 Waterford Road (Route 118) in Norway, Maine. The shelter is open for business on Tuesday through Sunday from Noon until 4:00 p.m. The cats can be seen during these hours.
Prospective adopters are required to complete an adoption application. References are contacted. Animals that are currently residing in the household must be up-to-date with vaccinations. The veterinarian will also be called. Landlord's permission is needed if the person adopting rents their home.
Adoption fees are $75 for an adult cat and $85 for a kitten up to one year old.
We serve the Oxford Hills, Maine area for strays and surrenders. Any kind-hearted person from anywhere in the world is welcome to apply for adoption.
