My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Walker is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. He is laid back and gentle. Friendly. Good with other dogs and loves people. Not a big barker. Not only he is handsome but he is smart. Easy to be around. He is no trouble what so ever. He knows how lucky he is to be alive and he just enjoys life. Affectionate. Rides well in cars and leash trained. Totally housetrained!
Wonderful companion for someone who is looking for a low maintenance and no drama pet. He is very adoptable dog and he doesn't ask for much. He is not a spring chicken but he will make a great walking partner and someone to snuggle with by end of a long day.
Short coat requires little care. Regular brushing will keep the coat clean of dirt and dead hair. Bathe as needed. Daily walk on a leash will keep him happy and healthy.
Walker is around 8 years old and weights around 30 lbs. Full grown.
This poor dog was turned in to a high-kill animal shelter in GA by his owners along with another dog. Unfortunately they were not able to keep them due to move. His sister already found a home however Walker did run out of time and was scheduled to be euthanized. Luckily for him Southern HOPE was asked to look over his age and give him another chance in life. Lets hope we can find him a loving forever home where he can retired and live happily ever after. PLEASE consider adopting this boy. He will show you what unconditional love is and he will be there for you no matter what. Walker has been neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, and microchipped. He is also heartworm negative.

Thank you for your interest in Walker. The rescue who is bringing Walker has the information on Walker's background. The rescue has asked Dog Days to pre-screen interested adopters for all of their dogs coming to our event.

APPLICATION FORM: http://godogdays.org/find-my-new-best-friend.htm (Copy and paste to browser.)

If you would like to begin the application process, please fill in the form at the link above and we will review your information, call your personal and well as vet references. PLEASE Fill in the application if you're interested in adoption, this will save you time at the event. A letter from your vet on their letterhead will also be very helpful if they won't be open for us to call as a reference. If you are renting, please note you must have a written letter of permission from your landlord to own a dog on their property. Dog Days will be conducting interviews of prospective adopters. As a policy, Dog Days will not hold dogs for potential adopters so it is important to come to the event by 11:00am Saturday morning if you have your heart set on a particular dog. We will be posting more information on each dog as we get closer to the event weekend which is June 23-24 at Chester Fairgrounds. PLEASE NOTE THAT DOGS ARE GIVEN TO THE BEST HOME, NOT FIRST IN LINE.
