My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA

Samson, or “Sammy” as he is known in his foster home, is a wonderful Husky youngster who turns heads everywhere he goes! At just under a year old, he has the typical puppy energy that you would expect, yet is very affectionate and mild mannered. He really is a beauty with a personality to match.

Sammy gets along great with other dogs, as he currently lives with a foster brother and sister. He and his foster sister, a 2-year-old pit bull, love to play together and can keep each other occupied for hours. Although he would likely be fine as an only dog, he seems to love the company of other dogs. Even his older alpha foster brother puts up with him, as Sammy is completely submissive and non-aggressive.

This boy is equally as good with people, cuddling up to anyone who will give him a good pet. Although initially he can get excited and jump up when he meets someone new, he settles down very quickly, and is then quite mellow. He has not had the opportunity to interact with children, but all other aspects of his personality suggest that he would be friendly and affectionate.

Samson came to his foster home a little malnourished but he is well on his way toward the proper weight for his age. He tends to get very excited at mealtime, but as mellow as he is; he shows no signs of food aggression. Besides food, Sammy’s other favorite things are belly rubs, walks, and meeting new people.

Sammy walks fairly well on his leash, only pulling a little… unless, of course, he sees a squirrel! He also loves to spend time cooling off on a hardwood or tile floor.

Like most Huskies, Sammy has somewhat of a reputation for being an escape artist and likes to see how much of his body he can squeeze through a tiny space. Therefore, care should be taken to ensure that his surroundings are secure. He is fine in his crate, although he spends very little time there. He currently has free rein at his foster home and shows no signs of destructiveness, so will probably never need a crate (most Huskies don’t), preferring to stay and sleep near his humans.

Sammy is housebroken, crate-trained, and overall, a well-behaved boy. He is very quiet except when it’s meal time; then he will let you know just how hungry he is. Of course, being so young, he does get excitable sometimes with food and meeting new people, but his foster parents continue to work on his manners.

Samson is healthy and heartworm negative. He will be neutered, microchipped and up-to-date with all his shots prior to adoption. He is a wonderfully affectionate and loving dog that will make a great companion. There’s no downside to Samson so fill out an adoption application on our web site, WWW.SIBERRESCUE.COM, today.
