Hunter's Story...
I came to AWLMC from a family. They had to give me up due to financial issues. I am a handsome gray tabby with green eyes. I am a little frightened at the shelter. I am a bit perplexed with all that has happened in my life recently. Shelter life hasn’t agreed with me much. I much to prefer to be in a quieter place. It takes me some time to warm up to people, but once I do my true colors shine. I like to be petted and will rub up against you. I don’t like other cats very much, so I need to be your one and only. Please come see me today! I was born in 2006.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hunter, a Gaithersburg Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gaithersburg, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gaithersburg.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gaithersburg already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gaithersburg breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gaithersburg paves the way for another one to be saved.
