Vanilla's Story...
Vanilla and her sister Mocha are beautiful five month old female, Shih Tzu, Terrier/ Pomeranian mixes. They do not have to be adopted together…they are current on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped, de-wormed and frontlined. Both girls are playful, happy and loving puppies. Vanilla and Mocha are also gentle and affectionate, they are good with children and get along great with other dogs and are fine with cats. They are in the process of learning to walk on leash and ride fine in the car. They are crate trained and do not potty inside the kennel, they also use potty pads at the sanctuary. They are both so sweet and enjoyed the extra attention during picture taking, they will be great little companions.

If you are interested in this dog or would like more information please send me an Adoption Questionnaire
Thank you
Patricia

Our Adoption Process...
AFCHS is a non-sheltered humane society organization modeled after some of the more progressive humane societies. We do not believe any home is better than no home, but instead, work to find the right home for each specific animal.
If you are interested in adopting an animal, please fill out and submit the adoption questionnaire or call 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535. ALL of the fields on the application MUST be filled out or the application will not send, if this happens your time will have been lost. If you are having trouble filling out the on-line application we can email you a copy to fill out. You can also copy the application and paste it into a word document, fill it out and then send it to us at office@animalfriendsconnect.org please call us afternoons at 209-368-1761 or 209-365-0535
Filling out a questionnaire is not a commitment to adopt. It does help us determine if the dog or cat you inquire about is suitable for your home and to suggest others not yet on our site.
While we have some dogs and cats at our Sanctuary most of them are in foster care or rescue homes. An application must be completed before an appointment can be set to meet them.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Vanilla, a Lodi Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu for sale in Lodi, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu puppy from a breeder in Lodi.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lodi already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lodi breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lodi paves the way for another one to be saved.
