Earvin's Story...

Have you ever wanted to live with a Movie Star? Now is your chance! Pugs N Roses is pleased to announce that we have rescued celebrity dog Earvin from Downey Shelter on Saturday. He is the STAR of the award winning documentary Street Dogs! Please share far and wide so Earvin can get a home!

Irvin is a celebrated three year old brown male Pug Mix that was found running the streets of East Los Angeles on May 29th and brought to the Downey Animal Care Center. Weighing twenty-three pounds, Irvin walks okay on leash, but could use some additional training. Apparently Irvin has lived a rather rough life on the streets and his character caught the attention of the filmmakers producing the new acclaimed documentary “Street Dogs”.
Since we received him our volunteers have been working with him and we are now able to coax him out of his kennel and he allows us to pet and love him, however he is going to need some TLC to bring him out of his shell and allow him to make the transition from “street life” to “home life.” Irvin should be adopted by a patient person and will repay anyone who gives him a chance with unlimited devoition.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Earvin, a Poway Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Poway, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Poway.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Poway already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Poway breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Poway paves the way for another one to be saved.
