Kaya's Info...

I am already spayed and not good with kids.

Kaya's Story...
Kaya is a beautiful fawn coated 5 year old spayed Chihuahua mix. She was relinquished by her owners who reported she was nippy with their small children so even though she appears to love children should go to a home with adults and close supervision when small children are around. Kaya was timid and shy when she first came to the shelter but as she's gotten familiar with the volunteers and her surroundings has become accepting to most handling. She likes to be close and on a lap but is put off when hugged or if someone reaches for her too quickly. She's gentle on lead, appears house trained, has nice manners and is very loving. Kaya is up to date with shots and is ready to choose a new home. Applications are accepted on line but we invite you to stop by the shelter to meet lovely Kaya.
If you want to apply for this dog click here.
You can then email the application to the Meridian Humane Society.

Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged.
All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Kaya, a Meridian Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
