My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lucy 3 yr old female black and white Maine Coon
Regular adoption fee: see below

July Update: Wow look at this magnificent cat. !!!
MAGNIFICENT ! We are so impressed with her now that she has gotten
over her "shelter shock, her fear and stress from being in the shelter. She is amazing. So striking. Big ,confident ,beautiful cat.
Look how long her tail is. And her personality matches her extraordinary appearance. She is super loving and expressive. She will lick your hands when she likes you and make you feel so loved. Someone is going to be so lucky..... She does want to be your one
and only and who could need more kitties than her.

This striking girl was in a shelter in a back trailer where she had no chance of coming to the adoption area. "It is kitten season. Can't you take her?" they emailed. It was that or nothing., They sent such a beautiful photograph of this beautiful cat that what could I do except find space for her somehow.

And I am so pleased to have her; she is such a nice girl.
Affectionate, soft, BIG. With her black beauty mark by her mouth, I was going to rename her after a movie screen goddess but she seems to be holding on to her name, Lucy. So Lucy she is. Her body is all white and her tail, her big fluffy tail, is all black. I love how her pink nose goes with her pale green eyes. She's a very unusual sweet good girl.

I have just gotten her ( 6/16 ) so I don't know her well yet. So far she is gentle and easy to handle, you can pick her up and nuzzle her even if she doesn't know you. She likes kisses. She is a little sad and down trodden.

She was owner surrendered by a family with a 6 yr old girl who she did well with. They had no other pets. She was inside outside and they put her in the garage at night. On the surrender form under the question "Favorite toys and games" they wrote "None" . So that is telling. Somehow i think the family was busy with their attention elsewhere and she was left out, no pun intended. Let's find her an inside only home, with some humans to dote on her and fight over who gets to sleep with her at night. She will blossom and be so happy to be seen and appreciated.

She would make a great family cat for a fairly quiet family who can offer her the home life routines and loving attention she needs. Alternately she could be a single person's beautiful new best friend and companion, snuggling up to watch late night movies together. She is definitely a lap cat the form says (and also uses her scratching post. )

So far she eats wet and dry food and has been litterbox perfect.

New photo's soon.

Her foster mom is Harriet in Santa Cruz
