Stormy's Story...
Meet Stormy an adorable, tiny Russian Blue/Siamese mix kitty. Born around the end of April, we guestimate Stormy to be 8 weeks old this week (Week of 6/17). We do not know his exact age or breed as he was dumped at an animal control in Southern IL with several other kitties from several different litters. While very closely resembling a Russian Blue, Stormy still has his blue eyes and a triangular face hinting at possibly having some Siamese mixed in there.

Stormy's journey started in Southern IL where he was dumped with his brother and sister, Cloudy and Misty. The three huddled together, tiny and scared and waited to be rescued. Angels on Wheels got the call and came to the rescue. We took the siblings along with 2 other tuxedo kitties and got them safe and sound into a loving foster home where they could begin to learn concepts such as love, warmth, fully bellies, and toys! Their learning didn't end here though as they also learned a few other not so welcoming concepts, the worst being what it feels like to take a bath along with less horrible things like finding out what it feels like to be flipped over by an older playful kitty three times their size as well as the noise accompanied by 3 crazy young, kitten lovin' kids. Though still a bit shy, Stormy is thriving and learning to find safe places to observe when he's scared. Stormy loves to play with his siblings. He loves wrestling with them and boxing with his little paws. He also loves the kitty tunnel. Stormy is a bit more reserved then his brother and sister and won't be the first one to run up and say hello. As a matter of fact, it took his foster family a long time to pick him up - afraid he might panic, but they were very surprised to find that when handled, Stormy loves to nestle into your chest and doesn't even use his claws to hold on. He's such a gentle, loving little guy who is now a regular at human/kitty snuggle time.

Stormy is being fostered in a home in Mokena with his brother, sister and another brother and sister from another mother. He's exposed to three children (ages 9,7,3), a teenage kitty, and a senior dog who ignores them. A meet and greet for these kitties would take place in the Mokena home. Pictures of the rest of the kitties are located on Petfinder also (look for: Misty, Cloudy, Squeak, and Buttons).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Stormy, a Naperville Russian Blue kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Russian Blue for sale in Naperville, or seeking a Russian Blue kitten from a breeder in Naperville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Naperville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Naperville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Russian Blue breeders who help with Russian Blue rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Naperville paves the way for another one to be saved.
