My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tyson is a very friendly, and playful fellow. He is a young dog just under a year old but is already showing himself to be a gentle, affectionate pup who is eager to please. He is a mid-sized dog weighing 35 lbs and with a few extra pounds added he will still not reach an adult size of much over 40 lbs.

Here is what his foster dad had to say about Tyson:

Tyson is friendly with everyone we meet although he waits to be introduced. He follows me everywhere and is always looking to me to see that the stranger is okay, or that the loud noise on the street is not going to hurt us. I think he would do very well in obedience training because his natural nature is to defer to his humans. He is definitely more on the submissive side. He likes to be with you and enjoys doing whatever you want to do.

Tyson is also excellent with other pets and would be fine with children of all ages. He would make a wonderful family pet and a great single’s companion. I do not crate him at all and give him free roam of the house. He is still learning some manners such as not to counter surf but for the most part he doesn’t touch anything that is not his. He loves his toys and that’s all he chews on. He does like his dog bed which is where he sleeps at night and when I am gone from the apartment. He does like to carry his leash around in his mouth but he never chews it.

As I am in an apartment it was important that Tyson not be a barker which he isn’t. The only time he barks is when there is reason to or when my dog barks at something he will chime in. Other than that he is quiet as a mouse. He would be a good choice for apartment living as he is not very big or bouncy but he would need a good daily walk each day. He would love however to have a backyard to play in and would really love it if there were another dog or possibly some children to play with or toss a ball around for him.

Tyson is fully house trained and knows his basic commands such as sit, come, down and we are working on stay. He likes going out in the car and is no problem. He never tries to bolt out the door ahead of me and instead is always looking to me for direction.

I think Tyson would fit easily into any environment. He is a lovely young dog that is friendly to everyone, is very eager to please, easy to train, and very loving. Tyson is an easy dog to care for and would be a good choice for even first time dog owners.
