Lita's Story...

Lita wants to be the center of your universe. A loving, affectionate girl, she will start off shy and may need a bit of time and patience to adjust to her new surroundings and trust you fully. Once she does, she will be your sweet, snuggly best friend.

Lita doesn't just want to sit on your lap while you sit on the sofa; she likes to sit on your torso while you wrap your arms around her and snuggle. She loves to nuzzle your chin and headbutt you while snuggling, too. Lita is also happy to play with you with little, soft mouse toys. If you throw them she will chase them, but she won't fetch - she is a lady!

Lita is a girl who has her own opinions and wants things her way. If she is displeased she will let you know by chirping or, if she is annoyed, a nip or swat. She needs a home with an adoring family who knows how to read cats and will treat her like a queen. She can be fussy about grooming at times, but needs regular nail trims and some brushing (the more you pet her, the less brushing she needs), which is another reason an experienced cat person will need to take her home. She is easily startled and needs a very calm, quiet home where she will get daily attention.

Lita does not like children or dominant cats. She is likely to hide under furniture for long periods when frightened and will need a patient and gradual introduction to her new home. Her manners and litter box use are perfect. She would do well as an only cat or with one other, calm companion cat. No dogs, please. She is an amazing, gorgeous girl who has stolen many hearts, especially that of her foster family! Are you the special person who can give this beauty her forever home?

About Our Rescue Group...
Fancy Cats Rescue Team was founded to provide the community a "safety net" for cats and kittens that are abused and abandoned, or added to the euthanasia list at the shelters that we are currently participating with. We are a 501 (c) (3) Nonprofit Organization and participate with the United Way/CFC #8929. The goal is to have no kill shelters in place. Education and responsible pet ownership are the foundation of our organization. Our program provides literature, counseling, referral services and educational resources to families and individuals needing guidance. Teaching people responsible pet guardianship by spay and neutering their pets, behavioral modification and health concerns. We also provide a mentoring environment for our youth volunteers where they can learn the rewards of community service while caring for animals that need their gentle, loving kindness. They also interact with the community providing self-confidence and the ability to interact with a variety of cultures and diverse backgrounds. Once an animal is received into our program, they remain with us until a safe, appropriate home is found. They are never euthanized based on their age or space limitations. They are given appropriate medical care, immunizations, spays or neuters and endless hours of tender, loving care. We are an all-volunteer organization with no paid staff. We are funded by community donations, 91% goes toward the care and well being of our animals. Our adoption fees help offset our veterinary bills.
Come Meet Our Pets...
Our adoptions are held at the Fair Lakes PETsMART in Fairfax Virginia, at the Chantilly PetsMART, at the Gainesville PetsMART, and at the Springfield PetsMART
Check our website for upcoming adoptions. www.fancycats.org
Our Adoption Process...
Our adopters fill out an application that screens for problems that may be detrimental to our cats and kittens. Once the adopter is approved we provide veterinary referrals which help with low cost spays or neuters for the kittens that are too young at the time of adoption. We are always available to help with behavioral issues that arise. We provide numerous information sheets in our adoption folders, plus the medical background of each cat. The only fees involved with our program are adoption fees that offset our veterinary bills.
