Lily's Story...
Hi there! My name is Lily! I am a very happy, extremely sweet white German Shepherd Dog. I currently live with my foster mom and dad. I also have a big foster brother (he's a German Shepherd like me!) and a little ball of fur they call a "cat."
Mom says I'm a very smart girl. I have learned how to sit, lay down and back up when they tell me to. Mom also does motions with her hands when she gives the verbal commands, so I know those, too. Mom says there's more things for me to learn, and I will do my best!
I love to go on walks, but I'm still learning my "leash manners." I don't potty in the house, so when I need to go, I nudge the door knob. I always know when it's time to go out 'cause mom gets my leash, and then I sit by the door and wait for my turn to go out (I will admit, I do like to go out first).
I've met a lot of new people. I love people! They've all been so nice and say I'm such a good, pretty girl. I am always smiling. Isn't that awesome!? I met a new dog he other day, too. He wasn't like my foster brother, but he was nice. We all took a walk together. It was so much fun!
Did I mention how much I LOVE people!?
I like to take naps after walks. I usually like to lay in my own little "house" they call a crate. It's got a fluffy bed in it. I also have a bed to lay on next to the place where my foster parents sleep. This is really cool 'cause I'm always where I can see someone.
Mom gave me and my foster brother new toys the other night. He got one and I got one. I didn't like him being so close to my new toy and let him know that... So mom took the toys away, which was ok. I didn't say anything to her about it. She said I need to learn how to share.
I would be perfect for a nice family or even for one person as a companion dog. So when do you want to meet me?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lily, a Houston German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Houston, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
