My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi my name is Tanner and boy do I miss having a family! I have been without a family for over two years now. Why you ask, because I'm blind and many people don't want to committ to a dog that is blind. I spent a year at the shelter before Wild Dog pulled me. I have been at Wild Dog for a year now and they have been working with me and helping me get comfortable with my blindness. The rescue uses special treats when I meet new people and I do enjoy meeting new people but you need to go slow with me. I also walk great on a leash...yes I enjoy going for walks, my nose works just fine and helps me along the way. I also play fetch! How do I play fetch if I can't see the ball? Well I listen for it and follow the bouncing sound. Then I will bring it back directly to you. You should see how excited I get when I play fetch!!

What I need is someone who is patient, willing to go slow and willing to work with my blindness. I would prefer a family with no small children but older respectable kids may be okay. I am even okay with other dogs, as long as they are not bigger than me. Once I'm comfortable with you I am a cuddlebug. There are numerous resources out there to help blind dogs and the wonderful people at Wild Dog will gladly share them with you and help you along the way.

So do you want to see me play fetch in person? Maybe you have owned a blind dog before? I am a really good dog, super smart, I just need some one to give me a chance! Will it be you? If you want to meet me, please contact the awesome people at Wild Dog Rescue and they can set up a time for us to visit. I'd really like to meet you....hope to see you soon!
