About Our Shelter...
Bisbee Animal Shelter is a very small and old shelter in Bisbee Arizona run by the city's police department. Its annual budget is minimal and provides only basic food, basic supplies and pays the utilities. Dedicated volunteers and donations are the only hope for many of the animals that end up in this shelter. Anyone wanting to help is very encouraged to do so. With dedicated volunteers there has been great success in helping these animals. But, the volunteers and the one Animal Control Officer need as much help as possible in keeping the animals healthy and friendly and finding them homes. The building has 10 dog kennel -nd a handful of small cat cages. Donations of goods or funds call 520-678-5783 for how to donate.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Butterscotch, a bisbee American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in bisbee, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in bisbee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in bisbee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a bisbee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in bisbee paves the way for another one to be saved.
