Newton's Story...
Newton is a sweet and adorable young kitty looking for his forever home. His birthday is approximately 4/16/12. He likes to hang out with his friend Pria who is also up for adoption. He would do best in a calmer household without small children as he can be shy at first. Once he warms up though he loves to play and explore, and does well with other animals. Newton is an outgoing, confident, and high energy kitten who loves to explore and run around the house. He is also great with dogs and will lie on their beds with them. He loves to play with plastic bags and mom's tail. He is a very talkative little kitten and will say hi every time you pet him or pick him up. Newton likes playing with his brothers and sisters, but can keep himself occupied as well.

Newton would do best in a home where he has another kitty friend. We recommend adopting kittens in pairs if there are no other friendly cats in the home. A playmate provides important socialization and stimulation, especially for people who work all day and can't be home with their kitten. Kittens bond to one another and play in a way humans can't. Adoption fee is $135 for one kitten, or $235 for two, and includes deworming, up to date vaccinations, FeLV/FIV testing of each litter, and spay or neuter. If interested in giving Newton his forever home, please email Jackie at jakrivero@yahoo.com for an application.

Our Adoption Process...
The first step in the adoption process is to complete an adoption application. You may be asked additional questions, or to expand your answers. If approved, we can then set up a meeting with the pet to decide is he or she is the right fit for your family. You may be asked to allow a home inspection prior to taking home the animal. Adoption fees cover spay or neuter, deworming, transport, shelter fees, vaccinations and veterinary cots up until adoption. The adoption fees for dogs are $275 for puppies, $200 for adults, and $300 for a pair of adults. Adoption fees for cats are $135 for a kitten, $235 for two kittens, $110 for an adult, $220 for a mother kitten pair, and $75 for a senior pet. You will be asked to sign an adoption contract and health disclosure. You will be provided with a copy of the medical and shelter records. Spay and neuter non-negotiable.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Newton, a San Diego Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in San Diego, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in San Diego.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Diego already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Diego breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Diego paves the way for another one to be saved.
