My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Being fostered in New England and looking for a new home after a bad placement, Apples is a beautiful, young adult male miniature Dachshund. Chocolate dapple with a white chest :) He's a very sweet dog who longs to attach, will give kisses, is a professional bed snuggler and quite affectionate. He loves, loves, LOVES walks....he is a puller, but has the time of his life! This is a very companionable dog and one fun to live with....very interested in what you are up to but not too underfoot or clingy, he has that classically charming sweet-but-brassy Dachshund personality, loves to do short spurt zoomies, is very curious and very silly! Does really well in his crate, is good with his housebreaking as long as you are patient with him outside. He has made a truce with his foster's cat and gets along with her fine, is tolerant of other dogs given some settling in time. Pretty much a readymade pet, although he's a high energy boy who loves to bounce, is slightly on the nervous side, and will bark at other dogs when on lead. Perfect little guy for a rescue savvy person who loves the breed. If you'd like to discuss Apples further, please fill out an application on the southpawsexpress.org website today!
