Amy's Info...

Amy's Story...
Amy’s owner had to give her up due to health issues. She is fairly quiet and a typical Quaker in being somewhat territorial regarding her cage. But, if you place a small towel over your hand, she steps up right away. Amy jabbers a lot but no words we can really make out! She's not a picky eater; she likes just about anything.

Amy was friends with another Quaker that passed away and has been more reserved since losing her friend. She really needs someone who can give her attention and maybe even another bird friend.

Amy's approximate hatch date is 2002, and her adoption fee is $100.

For information on some of the characteristics of this bird, see this Species Profile page:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Amy, a St. Louis Parakeet - Quaker was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Parakeet - Quaker for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Parakeet - Quaker from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Parakeet - Quaker breeders who help with Parakeet - Quaker rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
