Mo's Story...
Mo is a beautiful 37-year old Double Yellow Head Amazon. Don't let his age deter you. His foster Mom's last DYH Amazon lived to be 63 years old.

Mo is a wonderful bird to have. He is so entertaining. He'll talk all day, trying to get your attention, or join in any conversation he hears. He would love nothing better than to have you sit and talk to him non-stop. His only down side is that he is not hand tamed, but by the same token, he is not aggressive.

Mo hangs from the top of his cage with his beak through the bars so you can rub his beak, the side of his face, and his head. His cage is open all day so he spends most of his time on top of it or his play stand next to his cage. He'd really enjoy someone who would sing with him (which his foster mom is not very good at).

Mo would make a great addition to your family.

Mo's approximate hatch date is 1/1975, and his adoption fee is $300.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mo, a St. Louis Amazon was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Amazon for sale in St. Louis, or seeking a Amazon from a breeder in St. Louis.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St. Louis already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St. Louis breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Amazon breeders who help with Amazon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St. Louis paves the way for another one to be saved.
