My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ziggy is a very handsome, 6 year old, purebred, male Newfoundland. Ziggy’s family had financially difficulties and sadly they made the decision to surrender him.

Ziggy has moderate, bi-lateral hip-dysplasia. Since coming into foster care he has been dieting, exercising and receiving supplements. All of the above are helping with his mobility and he will continue to improve.

Ziggy has never known anything but love so he is a typical kind, gentle, laid-back Newf with no behavioral issues. He has had obedience training and is very obedient. He does not counter surf, rifle trash or drink out of the toilet. He is apprehensive about stairs and walking on surfaces that aren’t carpeted but loves being with his people so much that he will eventually venture across them. Ziggy has even been known to open a door or two to get to his people.

He enjoys lounging in the pool and playing ball, as long as he isn’t required to chase it. He is good with people of all shapes and sizes, children and he recently got down and crawled across the floor to meet an infant. He gets along great with cats and other dogs both family dogs and those in public who are unfamiliar to him. He is a good passenger and enjoys car rides.

He is neutered, chipped and up to date on vaccinations.

He is an absolute joy to have around and will be the perfect, ready-made guy for some lucky family.

Our adoption fee is $300.00. A fenced yard with a minimum height of 4-feet is required for adoption.
If you plan on submitting an application and you are out of our region, once your application is approved we require that you come to our area to meet the dog and foster family. If that goes well you will be able to take your Newfie home with you.
