Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Taylor. 8 yo Female Calico Persian
Special Needs
Taylor is a darling Persian who's face is so flat that her tongue sticks out. She has a larger than life personality and charms all who meet her, even thoughs that aren't generally charmed by Persians. She is PKD positive. PKD, or Polycystic Kidney Disease, is an inherited disorder found in many Persians. Eventually her kidneys will fail, but she is blissfully unaware of that. Her latest blood panel showed that she's still a healthy girl. Taylor is fine with other cats and gentle dogs. She walked into Rescue and made herself right at home. She quickly found her place in the scheme of things. The first night she slept on the pillow of her foster mother, however, she later figured out that this space belonged to another cat. She she politely moved to the foot of the bed. Taylor is great about her bathing and grooming, and doesn't seem to mind her regular pedicures.
We are looking for a VERY special home that will love and care for Taylor, and maintain her kidneys when they begin to fail. Many Persians can live years even after the signs of the disease begin to manifest. She might live 6 months, but she could conceivably live another 6 years.
Pardon the less than flattering photos. Taylor is one who is more interested in socializing than sitting for the camera. She was too busy looking to be petted, and wouldn't sit still.
