My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hunter is an absolutely beautiful boy and he has a very sad story with a very happy ending. Our rescue got a call about a dog on the side of the road, thought to be dead. In the middle of the night we went to check on the situation. Hunter was lying in the yard of an empty house and there were two other dogs watching over him. He was absolutely skin and bones. We had food with us and he got up and ate, watching us the whole time. Neighbors told us he had been living at the abandoned house at least a year. We were sad to realize people were aware of his starving condition and had made no effort to feed him or otherwise help him. Hunter was afraid of us and it took awhile to catch him that night, but thankfully, we were successful. We took him to the vet the next morning and he was in a very bad condition. We weren't sure he was going to live. Well, Hunter is now like a totally different dog! He is well-fed, healthy and happy. He is so handsome with his pointed face and his beautiful buff-colored fur. We believe he may have some red heeler in his mix. Hunter loves attention and likes people, although he is still a little shy. He gets along well with other dogs. Hunter will be a wonderful addition to any family who is willing to be patient with his shyness. Please note that Hunter is being fostered in Tennessee, so it wouldn't be possible to meet him prior to adoption. The $450 adoption fee covers the cost of all immunizations, neutering and transport to your area.
