Buddy's Story...
Buddy was found abandoned several weeks ago. We are putting his age at 9 years, but he may be older. He came to us very thin and we are noticing that he has put on perhaps a pound in the short time we have had him. He is still thin at 67 pounds for his bone structure. Very nice gentle sweetheart and would be a marvelous dog for the family. He has been vetted and it was discovered that he has the tick borne Lymes disease which is treatable with a course of an antibiotic called doxicycline and we are currently treating. His meds will be send along when he is adopted.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Buddy, a Glenwood Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Glenwood, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Glenwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Glenwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Glenwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Glenwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
