UPDATED BIO 07/15/2012: Lila is a 4 year old 8 lb little girl who is heartworm positive and being fostered in Orlando, FL. Lila is as sweet as they come. She loves her person fiercely and loves to be by their side. She also likes the other dogs in the home. Lila is an active little girl; so, she has to be confined to a crate during her heartworm treatment. We are giving Lila has first heartworm medication (immiticide) this week. Please cross your fingers that this little girlie does well! She is housetrained, up to date on vaccines, and spayed. Once her heartworms are cleared (early Fall), she should be ready for adoption. Thanks for looking!
UPDATED BIO 05/26/2012: Lila is a sweet 4 year old 8 lb little girl who will be making her way tomorrow to Orlando by plane with Pilots N Paws pilot Tim. She is a sweetheart of a little girl and always looking for affection. She loves being in your lap and showering you with kisses. She loves to be with her person and cries a little when you leave but settles down. Lila's previous owners neglected to give her heartworm prevention, and Lila has begun taking medications to treat her heartworm disease. We are hopeful for a full recovery. Right now Lila is doing well, loves to go for walks, and enjoys other dogs. She likes toys, but we must keep her relatively calm throughout her treatment. Please say prayers for this sweet girl that this ordeal will soon be behind her and pave the way for her to find her FURever home!
INITIAL BIO 05/22/2012: Lila is a sweet little girl who found herself in a high kill shelter as a stray. She weighs 8 lbs and is about 4 years old. Sadly, Lila's owners did not take proper care of her, and their lack of providing heartworm prevention means that this little one now has to undergo expensive, painful, dangerous treatment. She has started her antibiotic therapy and will receive her full workup this week. This little one was spayed this week at the shelter and is recovering from loneliness, pain, and preparing for her heartworm treatment. In the meantime, we are showering this little princess with love love love. She is temporarily being fostered in Miami, FL but will be on her way to Orlando by the end of the week to be fostered. So far she has used the wee wee pad. She is a smart little girlie. Please stay tuned as we get to know her better.
