This is a courtesy listing. Please contact owner (info below).

Hi my name is Bakardi Piper ;) I have lived with my mom since is was 8 weeks old I am going to be 2 in December. But she wants a better life for me than what she can give at the moment. You see.... My mom and dad are having a baby and are moving into a one bedroom apartment... And they know that does not work well for me... So they have to make the hard choice to better my life even tho it breaks their hearts.... I am a sweet girl who loves to cuddle... Mom calls it cuddle bug... I am educated... I went to a ton of classes... I have the diplomas to prove it ;) I am crate trained.... All you have to do is say park it and I go to my crate... But watch out with my crate I am a tricky one and can lock and unlock the doors :) .... I know how to wait when told and to stay and all the basic commands...I am potty trained and know how to use a doggy door... I love to give high fives and I chase my tail on command... I am a social butterfly and I love to play... But those black labs are not my favorite... I am quite the talker I talk all the time... Even when I am playing, I might sound mean or like I am fighting but I am just having fun... I used to live with a kitten but something bad happened to her :( that was a sad night( but just so you know I didn't do it this mean dog Maddie did)... I love kids but if they run I chase them and nip at their heels.... I love to protect my family it's my favorite.... I am not good at fetch I will chase the ball but then you have to chase me ;) I love baths and the blow dryer.... I also love the car it's my favorite to hang my head out the window.... My mom thought sometimes i was going to jump out but no that's just how I sit with my front legs out the window...i will eat just about anything but I love pickles... Me and mom would eat them all the time.... They are so yummy.... I hate to have my nails done....that's the worst... I love comfortable beds and pillows are the best ;)....i am spayed and I have all my shots... My mom and dad take really good care of me but like I said they want better for me... So please help them help me... If you want to know more about me feel free to contact my mom her name is Heather.... She might be a little sad but she knows this is what needs to happen.... You can text or call her any time 480-406-8187.... Thanks for listening to my story and I hope that you fall in love with me like my family has...

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
New Hope Cattle Dogs' mission is helping discarded, stray and unwanted Australian Cattle Dogs (ACD's) that need a second chance at finding a forever home and providing education and training to the public.

We believe that there is a special place out there for all unwanted and abandoned ACD's. It is our duty to match your lifestyle with the dog's personality for a "perfect" fit. It is important to us to place the dog that is right for you and your family in your home. Therefore, there are strict guidelines and qualifications that all potential adoptive homes must meet before we place a dog in their home.

Come Meet Our Pets...
Before you can meet an adoptable dog, an adoption application (http://www.nhcdarizona.com/forms/adopt.pdf) must be filled out and a home check must be completed. Then an appointment will be made between potential adopter and our foster home to meet the dogs.
Our Adoption Process...
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with all age appropriate vaccinations, had fecal exam, been dewormed, are microchipped and vet checked. We have recently started doing heartworm tests and starting all our dogs on heartworm preventative. We do not have the funds to do additional screening tests for Erlichia or Valley Fever unless the dog is showing signs of illness. If they are showing signs, we will then screen the dogs for these illnesses and treat appropriately. The adoption fee is $150-$250 (depending on the dog, with most dogs being closer to $200) and that includes all vetting previously mentioned. Please understand that this fee barely covers our medical expenses, shelter fees and does not begin to cover housing and feeding. So if you are able, an additional monetary donation is appreciated. Remember that we are a non-profit rescue group.
(Example Cost Break down for female puppy under one year old: Spay-$120-$165, 3 booster vaccinations (DHPP-C)-$15, Rabies shot-$15, Microchip and Registration of Microchip-$35, deworming medication-$5, fecal exam-$28, brief vet exam-$27: Total cost-$245.00) This example is typical for the majority of dogs we take in. If you add antibiotics (which most of our dogs will require), food, additional screening tests, fees to get the dog out of the shelter and gas to and from appointments, our costs are well over $400 per dog.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
We adopt to families all over the world. We only intake dogs from Arizona.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bakardi (courtesy listing), a Scottsdale Australian Cattle Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Cattle Dog for sale in Scottsdale, or seeking a Australian Cattle Dog dog from a breeder in Scottsdale.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Scottsdale already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Scottsdale breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Cattle Dog breeders who help with Australian Cattle Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Scottsdale paves the way for another one to be saved.
