This is Clyde, a purebred Queensland Heeler. He and his sister, Bonnie, were surrendered because their owner lost their home. As you know, a Queensland Heeler is a working dog, who needs room to run and work to do. Bonnie has been adopted, and now Clyde needs a home. If any of you know anyone who has a home with secure property for Clyde to run on, and an owner willing to exercise his body and mind, please share this. Clyde will make a superb pet for the right home. He loves to play with his other doggy friends. He enjoys being with people and going for long walks. He seems to be housebroken. His adoption fee is $55, which includes neutering, microchip, worming, all vaccinations including rabies, and a license. Clyde is with HALO Animal Rescue at their animal control wing. Please contact HALO for more information at halorescue.org or 602-971-9222. Thanks! Let's get Clyde out of a homeless kennel and into a real home where he belongs!
Rescue Group Info...
New Hope Cattle Dogs' mission is helping discarded, stray and unwanted Australian Cattle Dogs (ACD's) that need a second chance at finding a forever home and providing education and training to the public.
We believe that there is a special place out there for all unwanted and abandoned ACD's. It is our duty to match your lifestyle with the dog's personality for a "perfect" fit. It is important to us to place the dog that is right for you and your family in your home. Therefore, there are strict guidelines and qualifications that all potential adoptive homes must meet before we place a dog in their home.
Before you can meet an adoptable dog, an adoption application (http://www.nhcdarizona.com/forms/adopt.pdf) must be filled out and a home check must be completed. Then an appointment will be made between potential adopter and our foster home to meet the dogs.
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date with all age appropriate vaccinations, had fecal exam, been dewormed, are microchipped and vet checked. We have recently started doing heartworm tests and starting all our dogs on heartworm preventative. We do not have the funds to do additional screening tests for Erlichia or Valley Fever unless the dog is showing signs of illness. If they are showing signs, we will then screen the dogs for these illnesses and treat appropriately. The adoption fee is $150-$250 (depending on the dog, with most dogs being closer to $200) and that includes all vetting previously mentioned. Please understand that this fee barely covers our medical expenses, shelter fees and does not begin to cover housing and feeding. So if you are able, an additional monetary donation is appreciated. Remember that we are a non-profit rescue group.
(Example Cost Break down for female puppy under one year old: Spay-$120-$165, 3 booster vaccinations (DHPP-C)-$15, Rabies shot-$15, Microchip and Registration of Microchip-$35, deworming medication-$5, fecal exam-$28, brief vet exam-$27: Total cost-$245.00) This example is typical for the majority of dogs we take in. If you add antibiotics (which most of our dogs will require), food, additional screening tests, fees to get the dog out of the shelter and gas to and from appointments, our costs are well over $400 per dog.
We adopt to families all over the world. We only intake dogs from Arizona.
