Sugar's Story...
Meet Sugar, she is about 48lbs and was born 3-19-01. Sugar has been shaved for the summer by her former owner but it will grow out and she'll have a lovely coat! She is adapting well but is somewhat skiddish right now, nothing out of the normal. She appears to have excellent house manners and is very affectionate when calm. She is very good with the other dogs and cat (pretty much ignores all of them). Sugar sits on command and walks well on a leash. She seems to prefer people to dogs. I am sure she will be a great dog for someone.

Sugar was turned into the shelter when her owner had twins, just no more time for her. She's a great dog and will make someone a wonderful pet.

Sugar is fostered in Naples. 6/8/07

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sugar, a Orlando Australian Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Australian Shepherd for sale in Orlando, or seeking a Australian Shepherd dog from a breeder in Orlando.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Orlando already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Orlando breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Australian Shepherd breeders who help with Australian Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Orlando paves the way for another one to be saved.
