Daisy's Story...
One year old, 13 lb Daisy was passed around for a few months until she was finally taken in by someone who cared about her. This woman couldn’t keep her but wanted to make sure Daisy finally got a good home so she surrendered her to rescue.

Daisy is absolutely darling. She is sweet and shy. She tries her best to be a super easy dog.
She was in heat when she arrived (she has since been spayed) so she’s had to be kept separate from the other dogs. Poor Daisy takes this confinement with no complaint.

We think Daisy is a soft coated wire. She has a lovely long body and a classic wire snout. She really needs a grooming to show her off to her best advantage but her foster mom has been so slammed with dogs, that getting a dog to a groomers is way down at the very bottom of the list.

Daisy is so gentle we think she could learn to live with cats.

If you are interested in this quiet angel, please fill out an adoption application at www.scdr.org and email Lindy at linla@comcast.net.
The tax deductible donation for Daisy is $325.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Daisy, a San Jose Dachshund puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in San Jose, or seeking a Dachshund puppy from a breeder in San Jose.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Jose already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Jose breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Jose paves the way for another one to be saved.
