Bob's Story...
Hi there folks! I'm Bob. Yes, Bob the Cat. And I am awesome. I know, it makes me sound a bit full of myself, but have you met some cats? You know, the ones that hiss and swat and growl? Yeah, those cats. That's not me. I'm quite the opposite! I'm 8 years old, and I was abandoned at an animal shelter almost 4 years ago. And so, being a black male cat, and a little older than the popular kittens, I sat, and I sat, and I sat. Despite purring when you pet me, rolling over for belly rubs, and climbing into your lap, people still passed me over for the youngsters. And so, I was transferred to Young at Heart, where people come to look for awesome older kitties like me! And I am an absolute angel!! I'm great with my litter box, healthy, and great with other kitties - I'll even give them kisses. I'm a super cool dude, and I hope that by arriving at Young at Heart, I will find my forever family quickly! It's been a long time since I've been in a home, and I can't wait to be in one again! Come meet me!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bob, a Palatine Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Palatine, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Palatine.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Palatine already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Palatine breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Palatine paves the way for another one to be saved.
