Hi there, I'm Jessie! I'm a solid, shiny panther of a black cat, with beautiful green eyes. I'm playful and adaptable, very outgoing and just a good solid feline personality.
I tend to be the boss wherever I go, so I would be ideal as someone's only cat friend, very loyal and ready to meet you at the door after a long day away. However, I grew up with another cat, so I might do okay with someone else as long as they're just as outgoing as I am.
I love to snuggle with my people, purring in laps at night. I'm so gentle that my last foster home thought I was declawed because they never saw my claws! Of course I'm not; I'm just a lady about when I choose to use them. I don't even shed very much, although I do love to be combed. I really bonded to my foster dad, so I'd be great with a Cat Daddy.
My other house had children and I really love hanging out with them...as long as they let me choose when to be picked up! I'm a great companion cat, happy to hang out with you wherever you are. I love sitting on my foster mom and playing with all the toys, especially Da Bird as you can see.
I can be adopted for $95. I tested virus free and have all my normal vet work (except rabies), plus a microchip, a food and litter starter kit, a month of free insurance, and a free vet voucher. Since I'm in foster care now, snuggling with my foster mom, please call ahead to meet me.

What makes HCH different from other shelters?
A purr is more subtle than a wagging tail. Cats sometimes need a little help to bring out their best sides, especially with the trauma of losing their homes. We focus on the special needs of cats in shelters, creating a cage-free feline-friendly space that best promotes each cat’s individual personality. This also makes us more human friendly too, giving you a comfortable environment to make your best match possible.
Why open another cat shelter?
Around 9 out of 10 dogs in shelters find a home. For cats, it’s only 1 out of 3. We’d like to put a dent in those horrific statistics by showing people what great companions cats can be. We also spay and neuter each cat to help reduce the kitten explosion that leads to nearly 5,000 cat and kitten euthanasias a year in the Pikes Peak region alone.

DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 24 West (exit 141 off I-25) and go to 21st Street. Turn south and go half a mile up the hill to the 21st Street Center. Look for the Happy Cats sign!
We have a downloadable Adoption Application on our website. It's helpful if potential adopters fill that out before visiting. Our adult cats are $95, which includes their FIV/FeLV testing, spay/neuter, microchip, vaccination (except rabies), a month of free insurance, food & litter starter kit and a free vet visit voucher. Seniors and other special needs cats include the same signing bonus and are $80. Our kittens are $125 for those over 6 months and $140 for those under, including the same package. Happy Cats Haven is a non-profit, limited admission rescue and adoption center for homeless cats and kittens in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We adopt out within a 4-hour drive of the shelter.
