Milo's Story...
Please contact Re- home for more information about this pet.

This is Milo, he showed up to my house a couple weeks ago looking for food. I started feeding him and instantly fell in love with him. My husband and I made the decision to keep him even through my two girl cats we not too happy. I made an appointment with the spay/neuter clinic to get his shots and  have him neutered. The day he was taken to be fixed I received a devastating phone call that Milo had tested positive for HIV feline aids. The decision I was faced with was to have him put down or proceed with getting him fixed. I did not have the heart to have him put down, he looked like a young normal healthy cat that just needed a little TLC. My friends at work found him a foster home for now so I had him fixed and all his shots. I contacted my vet and had to have my girls checked, luckily they are negative but the vet strongly advised I did not keep him because of putting my two girls at risk. I wish to find him a home with someone that could keep him indoors which the vet recommends because HIV cats have a lowered immune system. The vet said Milo can live a normal life for many years to come. He is the sweetest little boy with big green eyes and would make someone a great companion. I hope and pray their is someone out there that can give this sweet little boy a home. Milo has been neutered, wormed, 1yr rabies, tested for feline leukemia ( which was negative), fvrcp, treated for fleas, tested for FIV/Felv (which is positive).

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...
Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: www.catscradleva.org for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...
We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: www.catscradleva.org for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

Our Adoption Process...
Please see our website: www.catscradleva.org for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.

We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
Augusta, Page, Rockingham and Shenandoah Counties in Virginia.
