BRYSON's Story...
READ THE ENTIRE BIO TO LEARN ABOUT SRC'S ADOPTION PROCESS AND THE DOG YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.

Please note: Our dogs are NOT located in Lenoir, NC. They are in foster homes throughout NC, SC, and VA. You must be willing to drive to the dogs foster home in order to adopt it. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio.

Our Available Dogs are updated daily. If you see a dog on our site, it is available for adoption on that day. Emails asking if a dog is available for adoption will not be answered.

Just as the Available Dogs are updated daily, so are the bios. The bios are very descriptive and tell everything we know about a dog. If something is not listed in a bio, we do not know it at the time you are reading it. Emails asking for more information will not be answered.

BEFORE you can meet any of our dogs, you must be approved to adopt. This means you must first download an application from our website and submit it via email or fax (1-910-401-1317). A vet check or a reference check is then completed and if that goes well a home visit is done. The entire process takes 3-7 days normally, depending on your location. If we do not have anyone in your area to do your home visit we will ask you to reach out to local vets offices, shelters, and rescues to get this done.

Please do not apply to adopt a dog if you are not prepared to welcome it into your home within two weeks of applying. We do not hold dogs and we adopt them out on a first come first served basis based on a completed adoption process.

Once you are approved to adopt you must make your donation online via our website and sign an adoption contract BEFORE you pick up your new dog. SRC does NOT do meet and greets on the same day as adoptions so if you want to meet the dog first, you must make two trips to the foster home. Keep in mind that if, while you are waiting to meet a dog, another approved applicant decides to commit to it, the dog is no longer available for adoption.

BRYSON (SRC #1167) is a purebred buff colored Cocker Spaniel male that is estimated to be between 5-7 years of age. Bryson weighs around 25lbs and he has the most endearing eyes and the softest ears that he loves for you to rub.

Bryson's story is one of constant let down by people. He was turned into the shelter not once in his life, but three times. We do not know if this is by the same owner or by different people, but each time the family listed that they didnt have time for a dog. SRC became aware of Bryson and agreed to get him into a local rescue that had room for him. In the middle of SRC's transport, this supposed rescue backed out on him and told the SRC volunteer to take him back to the shelter. SRC never takes dogs to shelters and so Bryson came to be with SRC.

Not one person can believe this wonderful boy has had such a hard life. He is the most laid back, easy going dog, and he is no trouble at all. Bryson loves everyone he meets, both people and dogs. He is house broken, he walks well on a leash, and he loves to go for car rides. He is a complete gentleman in the house when you are away from the home so he doesnt need a crate.

Unfortunately, Bryson was severely neglected for some time before coming to SRC and he had deep inner ear infections that caused him to be deaf. SRC has treated him for two months and he is now deemed ready for adoption because his ears are finally cleared up where they are no longer causing him pain.

Bryson's deafness does not hinder him in the least! He follows you around everywhere you go, so you always have a little buff colored shadow. He knows the routine in his foster home so he always knows right where to be at mealtime and he goes to the door when he needs to go outside. He then waits patiently when he has finished his business and is ready to be let back in.

Bryson would be great for a first time dog owner, an older person, or anyone looking for the most laid back dog they can find. You must like to cuddle at night and you must like to have a tv watching buddy on the couch with you and you will get along just fine with Bryson.

Bryson is up to date on his shots, heartworm negative, he had had his teeth cleaned, he is neutered, and he is mircochipped. All he needs now is his final FOREVER home...not one that will neglect him and take him to a shelter.

BRYSON IS BEING FOSTERED IN FORT MILL, SC. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO DRIVE THERE IN ORDER TO ADOPT HIM.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

BRYSON, a Lenoir Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in Lenoir, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in Lenoir.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenoir already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenoir breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenoir paves the way for another one to be saved.
