CLANCY's Story...
READ THE ENTIRE BIO TO LEARN ABOUT SRC'S ADOPTION PROCESS AND THE DOG YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.

Please note: Our dogs are NOT located in Lenoir, NC. They are in foster homes throughout NC, SC, and VA. You must be willing to drive to the dogs foster home in order to adopt it. The location of each dog is listed at the bottom of its bio.

Our Available Dogs are updated daily. If you see a dog on our site, it is available for adoption on that day. Emails asking if a dog is available for adoption will not be answered.

Just as the Available Dogs are updated daily, so are the bios. The bios are very descriptive and tell everything we know about a dog. If something is not listed in a bio, we do not know it at the time you are reading it. Emails asking for more information will not be answered.

BEFORE you can meet any of our dogs, you must be approved to adopt. This means you must first download an application from our website and submit it via email or fax (910-401-1317). A vet check or a reference check is then completed and if that goes well a home visit is done. The entire process takes 3-7 days normally, depending on your location. If we do not have anyone in your area to do your home visit we will ask you to reach out to local vets offices, shelters, and rescues to get this done.

Please do not apply to adopt a dog if you are not prepared to welcome it into your home within two weeks of applying. We do not hold dogs and we adopt them out on a first come first served basis based on a completed adoption process.

SRC does not adopt out its dogs to families with children under ten years of age. This is for the protection of the dogs and for the protection of the children.

Once you are approved to adopt you must make your donation online via our website and sign an adoption contract BEFORE you pick up your new dog. SRC does NOT do meet and greets on the same day as adoptions so if you want to meet the dog first, you must make two trips to the foster home. Keep in mind that if, while you are waiting to meet a dog, another approved applicant decides to commit to it, the dog is no longer available for adoption. .

CLANCY (SRC #1221) is a young (1-2 years old) Tibetan Spaniel/ Pekingese Mix that weighs 21 pounds. Clancy has exceptionally healthy shiny and silky medium to long hair, floppy ears, a tail that wags a mile a minute, and his coat is the color of spun gold and honey with a very unique marking that frames his face in what appears to be a heart shape. He is a strikingly handsome canine and has obviously been well cared for. It was most unusual that he was found in such great condition as a stray. Animal Control was shocked that no one came to look for him.Clancy has huge brown eyes that can look right into your soul and it appears that he is looking for someone. This dog would make such a wonderful companion as a quiet little boy who would follow you wherever you go without any drama. He walks beautifully on a leash and rides exceptionally well in a vehicle. He is a very laid back little guy and seems a little bit sad as if he is looking for someone to love him. Perhaps you could make all the difference in the world to this dog, and no doubt he could make a world of difference to you!

Clancy has just come to SRC from a bad situation and he is being evaluated in his foster home. So far he is the sweetest dog to everyone he meets and seems that he will make a great dog for any family. Stay tuned for more updates and photos.

CLANCY IS FULLY VETTED. HE HAS BEEN NEUTERED, HEART-WORM AND FECAL TESTED (BOTH NEGATIVE), GIVEN ALL HIS VACCINATIONS, DID NOT REQUIRE A DENTAL BECAUSE HE IS SO YOUNG AND HIS TEETH WERE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, PLUS HE HAS ALSO BEEN MICRO-CHIPPED FOR HIS FUTURE PROTECTION. ALL HE NEEDS NOW IS A HOME WHERE HE WILL BE FULLY APPRECIATED FOR HIS WONDERFUL CHARACTERISTICS!

CLANCY IS BEING FOSTERED IN BARNWELL SC AND WHEN HE IS ADOPTED YOU MUST DRIVE TO THAT LOCATION TO PICK HIM UP.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CLANCY, a Lenoir Tibetan Terrier/Pekingese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Tibetan Terrier/Pekingese for sale in Lenoir, or seeking a Tibetan Terrier/Pekingese dog from a breeder in Lenoir.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Lenoir already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Lenoir breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Tibetan Terrier/Pekingese breeders who help with Tibetan Terrier/Pekingese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Lenoir paves the way for another one to be saved.
