Facts about Orbit

  • Breed: Boxer
  • Color: Tan/Yellow/Fawn
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Female
Orbit is one of the softest boxers her foster parents have ever pet. She is a very loving girl whose greatest joy is playing with her squeaky Kong toy or being loved on by her humans. Orbit is an affectionate, 7-year-old, fawn female whose big brown eyes will steal your heart! This medium-sized gal was rescued from a kill-shelter near Dallas and immediately impressed her evaluators at how friendly she was, given the stressful environment she was in. Orbit has been in rescue for over two years and is SO ready to find her fur-ever home. She is housebroken, crate-trained, and walks well on a leash. However, she can be leash reactive and needs to be monitored by her human when other dogs are near. Her reactiveness is correctible and she responds well to instruction from her human.

She is a dedicated dog and will very closely watch and monitor her people. She is very entertaining and somewhat protective. She will discourage any squirrel activity around your home. She is fascinated with birds though and they seem to have a hypnotic effect on her. When she is happy and getting praise she does a funny little dance that involves kicking her front legs out in a silly march. She has a really cute face and ears. They are very expressive and when she hears things that sound strange or curious, she can twist her head and rotate her ears directionally so that they look like antennae. Very Amusing.

Orbit would do great in a home with children, she loves all of the kids she meets. She has done well in her foster home with other dogs, but she requires very slow and proper introductions. She would not be a good dog park dog. She would love to be an only dog so she could get all of the attention. This laid-back lady absolutely adores human attention and is a big cuddler. Her foster mom doesn’t let her on the couch or other furniture but she still tries to sneak up (when her foster mom is sitting on the couch, of course. Sneaking isn’t Orbit’s strong suit).

Orbit can scale the 6 foot privacy fence at her foster home. She doesn’t do this often, but should definitely be monitored when she is outside. Orbit is not cat friendly. Orbit is all muscle and a very beautiful boxer girl. She has stolen the hearts of her foster mom and dad and they both think she is a very special girl who deserves a great, loving home. Be sure to meet Orbit, she's a keeper!!
