Shatzi's Story...
Meet Shatzi !

This sweet little dog was rescued from his previous owner who had threatened to shoot him rather than fix his injured leg after being hit by a car. But now he is really on the mend after his leg surgery. He is doing well, although he still has a slight limp. He is about 7-8 years old. He is good with other dogs and with older children, but likes to chase cats. His foster mom says he is a very, very sweet dog and has been trained to sit, stay, leave it, no bark, and he is working on heel and come. He is partially blind and has a gimpy leg so young children would be too much for him. He has some cornea scarring and dry eyes, so he will need eye meds administered twice a day for the rest of his life. He does better with canned food since he has a lot of teeth missing. Although he may need a little bit of extra care, he is a great dog. Wouldn't you love to be the one to give this little dog the loving home he deserves?

The adoption fee of $150 includes heartworm test; current vaccines; spay/neuter & microchip!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shatzi, a Warren Japanese Chin/Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Japanese Chin/Shih Tzu for sale in Warren, or seeking a Japanese Chin/Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Warren.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Warren already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Warren breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Japanese Chin/Shih Tzu breeders who help with Japanese Chin/Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Warren paves the way for another one to be saved.
